Fredrikstad Seafoods and BioMar Norway continue their cooperation, extending long-term feed agreement for three more years

Fredrikstad Seafoods continues its cooperation with BioMar Norway to develop sustainable feed for its RAS facility in Fredrikstad.

«We have worked closely with BioMar for several years now and have achieved satisfactory results. Therefore, it makes sense to continue the good cooperation going forward,» says Roger Fredriksen, Fredrikstad Seafoods’ CEO.

-We are going to produce tasty, high quality salmon, raised on feed from sustainable and nutritious raw materials. We see BioMar as a competent and forward-looking supplier, one that is well advanced on sustainability,» concludes Roger Fredriksen.

Fredrikstad Seafoods started its production at the RAS facility in Fredrikstad in 2019 and currently supplies salmon to the Norwegian and European markets. Fredrikstad Seafoods is part of Nordic Aquafarms, which also produces kingfish inland in Denmark and is planning to build RAS facilities for salmon on both US coasts.

«We are very pleased that Fredrikstad Seafoods wants to extend the agreement, and look forward to continuing our cooperation,» says BioFarm Manager Oda Skognes Høyland in BioMar Norway. One of the keys to successful RAS operations is dedicated and competent people, and the team in Fredrikstad manages to get the most out of the fish, the feed’s potential and the production system.

«Our strong focus at BioMar continues to be on the development of innovative and sustainable feed solutions, and together with Fredrikstad Seafoods, we will keep moving this exciting project within the RAS segment forward,» continues Høyland.
